Curly Hair Friendly!

Curly Chemistry!

There are generally two types of shampoo bars : Soap based and Syndet bars. Soap-based bars are made of saponified oils ( aka Sodium Hydroxide + Oil = soap + glycerin ). These bars fall under the basic pH range and most makers would recommend an acidic final rinse like diluted apple cider vinegar. Syndet bars are Synthetic Detergent made of surfactants you would see in many shampoos less the water. The pH falls under the slightly acidic pH range (4-5) which is suitable for hair. Conditioner would be needed for most types of hair. Our bars are Syndet type.
